We were in Interlaken (meaning between two lakes), it is located between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. We toured the area in the morning (April 11). This is one of the two canals connecting the two lakes.31 views

This morning (April 16) we took our coach, crossed into Germany and visited Oberammergau. This is the Passions Theater.31 viewsWe visited the PassionsTheater where once every 10 years they perform the show of depicting the life of Jesus from Palm Sunday, when He entered Jerusalem, to resurrection. In 1633, the town was infected with the plaque and many had died. The church and town people pledged to perform this play every ten years if God would spare the town. They were answered and no more death from the plaque. They have performed this show/play every ten years since then (except in 1940 during the war). In 2010, they had performed this show 104 times between April and October. The show lasts over 6 hours with a 3 hour break in the middle.
