This morning we flew south on a turboprop. It was only a 35 minutes flight. We visited the place where the North American Plate separates from the Eurasia Plate. We walked on the fissure which continues to separate by 10 cm per year.69 views

We then continued to a river rafting trip on the Hvita glacial river. Thanks to Gudmundur Bjornsson, our trip leader, for the wonderful rafting pictures!69 viewsIt was exhilarating! We didn't start until 10:30am (btw, we had breakfast at 7:00am), and lasted until almost 2pm. We were cold, wet, and hungry, but we have not had such fun!
